Uploading a File While Placing an Order

On the product page, the File Upload field appears. When the customer clicks it, a pop-up opens with several ways to add a file:
  • Upload directly from their device.
  • Dropbox — sign in and pick a file from their Dropbox account.
  • Google Drive — sign in with Google and pick a file from their Drive.
  • Link (URL) — paste a URL and import the file directly from that link.

The pop-up also shows the field's allowed file types inline (based on what you selected in Allowed file types — see Key Concepts) and the max number of files allowed for that field.

Once a file is added, the pop-up updates to show its details (name, type, dimensions where applicable) as a card. From there, the customer can:
  • Edit the image — opens an Image Customization view with two tools: Remove Background and Crop Image. They confirm changes with Add to Images, or Close to back out.

  • Delete the file and upload a different one instead, if they change their mind.

Once they're happy with it, clicking Confirm closes the pop-up — the button label changes from "Upload button" to "File Uploaded", and the uploaded file is now shown directly on the product page under an "Uploaded Images" list. The file stays attached all the way through checkout, and gets linked to the order once it's placed.

Viewing Uploaded Files on an Order

The submission is automatically attached to the resulting order — no manual matching or separate email required. Open the order in Shopify, and the submission appears directly on the order details page under the field name you set during configuration.
